All Things Matter

Yesterday I spent nearly an hour trying to help a butterfly escape the pool enclosure. This has become a daily occurrence, sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t, and it always breaks my heart when one doesn’t make it.

This morning, I stepped outside and saw a large, beautiful butterfly in the pool. Thankfully, it had just fallen in, so I quickly scooped it up and placed it on some palm leaves to rest. I asked the trees to send healing energy, then stepped away to help another trapped butterfly.

That’s when something magical happened. The first butterfly, now stronger, appeared on the netting from the outside this time, almost as if it was saying thank you. I felt it communicate to me to cut a small hole in the top of the enclosure so others could escape.

I placed my palm toward it, sent it love, and made the cut. Not only did the other butterfly fly free, but my original friend took off into the sky, circling gracefully, making sure I saw. I was covered in chills. I know we were communicating.

All things truly do matter. Every life, every spark of energy, deserves our love and attention. Every being deserves the freedom to live. We are not above other forms of life, we are all part of the same Source.

I choose to live in a way that honors that truth. To create spaces where all things feel safe. Where they know they matter. Where we can coexist in harmony and love.
